Go to your MENU, then to the orange tab with the camera with 3 dots underneath it. Then go to Tab #4 and select "Customize Buttons." Scroll down until you see the MODE button and make sure that it shows "MODE: MODE." I'm not sure what else to suggest but will think on it. Touch operation is not possible. Make sure [3: Touch control] is set to [Standard] or [Sensitive]. A camera button or dial does not work as expected. For movie recording, check the [4: btn function] setting. Using the arrow buttons, cycle to the tab with the wrench with four dots above it. You should see a "Clear Settings" option. Use the arrow keys to highlight this option, and select it using the SET button. Next select the "Clear all camera settings" option. Select "OK", and give the camera a few seconds to reset.
I use it for video and pictures but not all the time. I recently have bought a speedlight Yongnuo 560 III. When I was taking pictures with that speedlight on it, the camera started to act strangely, changing some settings itself.
