Hi i am a bit confused we have a 1.6 tdci 2010 dash has started showing engine malfunction warning with alarm on start up but engine running fine checked codes and only getting P0504 brake light switch code .. which a) brake lights working fine and b) brake light fault is not an engine malfunction ??? Any help appreciated thx

It's not the same as the carbonising, turbo popping, 16v 1.6 TDCi fitted to the Mk2s. The injectors are crap though, as with all modern piezo injectors you're lucky to get 50k from them.
Day 4: again "ESP system fault", sent the car to the service and checked for codes, below are codes shown this time: U2023-ABS. U1900-IC. P0700-PCM. U0101-PCM. P0790-TCM. U0001-TCM. Mechanic is suspecting it's the Instrument Cluster or the electronic part inside transmission to be the issue for this!
